About Searchline
Here at Searchline we are often asked how we carry out our searches. Whilst there
are no secrets we can honestly say that every search presents it's own surprises.
Over the years we have invested heavily in the tools of our trade. We carry vast
databases which have all been purchased from official Government sources. We hold
the licences to use this information and we carry data protection.
We hold the indexes to all births, marriages and deaths within England & Wales from
the year 1900 to 2009 and later years are added as and when they become
available. We also have other extensive databases which allow us to track and trace
individuals and complete families very quickly. We hold the current complete electoral
roll for the whole United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. This information is updated
four times each year so that we are able to rely on the very latest records available.
This database is not the usual cheap version which is available to many people and
which can be many months or years out of date. Our data is collected from more than
one source which means we are able to offer a very reliable service. We also hold
complete electoral rolls for many previous years.
Of course, over the years we have gained the knowledge to know where to find additional
information and have befriended many public institutions who now respect our work
and aim to help us.
Every search is different and we can never say exactly how any individual search
will be started or finished. Likewise we have no idea what the outcome will be.
We have to ask for the patience of you, the client, if the search should hit a snag.
If you have tried to undertake your own search you will understand that there are
sometimes many obstacles to overcome.
We never like to close a file without a positive result but we will be able to keep
you informed of progress on your search and also advise you on it's viability.
We will never ask for any payment if we feel there is nothing we can do for you.
You will be advised on this when you contact us. And lastly - all the work carried
out by us is within the law.
